Child malnutrition remains a significant public health concern in many developing countries, including Somalia. Burao, a city in Somalia, faces a particular challenge with childhood malnutrition rates. To address this issue, the African Children's Rights Foundation (ACRIF), formerly known as ANPPCAN, launched the "Better Nutrition" project.

Recognizing the complexity of tackling malnutrition, ACRIF designed a comprehensive intervention strategy. This strategy focused on multiple aspects, including nutrition education, improved access to nutritious foods, and addressing micronutrient deficiencies. The project prioritized collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health and UNICEF. This multi-sectoral approach ensured a unified effort and access to a wider range of resources to achieve maximum impact.

To evaluate the project's effectiveness and identify areas for improvement, ACRIF convened a crucial semi-annual review meeting in Burao. This gathering brought together project stakeholders to share their experiences, analyze data, and collaboratively strategize for the next two years of the initiative. This report summarizes the key findings from the review meeting, highlighting the project's successes, encountered obstacles, and plans for the future.
