ACRIF implemented a community outreach theatre in Allaybaday and Dararweyne which included songs, role plays, and lectures with the objective of enhancing nutrition and production of nutrient-dense fruits and vegetables. This programme sought to educate the community on the importance of optimal feeding practices, as well as effective farming techniques.
ACRIF sought to equip community members with the knowledge and skills they needed to improve their nutrition, food security and overall well-being by offering education via theatre. The inclusion of engaging and interactive tactics, such as songs and role plays, made the learning process more relevant and memorable for participants. Additionally, ACRIF has worked with local leaders and stakeholders to ensure that the program’s operations were tailored to the specific needs and conditions of the communities in Allaybaday and Dararweyne.
The outreach campaign aims to improve long-term health and nutrition for targeted communities by promoting the optimal feeding and caring practices, as well as cultivating nutrient-dense agricultural produce.
ACRIF strives to provide an integrated approach to community development, addressing both nutritional education and climate-smart farming techniques. This approach not only improved immediate nutritional outcomes, but it also promoted long-term farming practices that would benefit the entire community.
