Empowering Community Nutrition workers and supervisors with Basic Training in Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN)

ACRIF has effectively completed a comprehensive 5-day training program on maternal, infant, and young child nutrition, benefiting 12 community nutrition workers and 6 supervisors in Hargeisa, Somaliland. This initiative, funded by German Cooperation through WHH and implemented by ANPPCAN Somaliland, aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of participants in promoting optimal nutrition for mothers, infants, and young children.

The primary objective of the training was to equip community nutrition workers and supervisors with the necessary tools to effectively address the nutritional needs of mothers, infants, and young children. This included imparting knowledge on appropriate feeding practices, nutritional requirements during different life stages, and strategies for promoting overall well-being.

As a result of the training, participants gained a deeper understanding of maternal, infant, and young child nutrition, enabling them to implement evidence-based practices in their communities. The outcomes included heightened awareness of nutritional challenges, improved counseling skills, and increased capacity to support healthier nutrition behaviors among mothers and caregivers. ACRIF, through this initiative, reaffirms its commitment to fostering positive health outcomes and building the capabilities of frontline workers to address nutritional challenges in Somaliland.
