ACRIF is currently implementing a UNICEF-funded nutrition project titled “Support Scale-up of Preventative and Curative Nutrition Services for Children and Women in Togdheer and Sahil Regions of Somaliland.” The project, which runs from October 2022 to December 2025, supports 32 health facilities and one Stabilization Center in the districts of Burco, Odwayne, Buhodle, Berbera, and Sheikh. The project aims to provide both facility-based and community-based curative and preventative interventions targeting children under five years old (boys and girls) and pregnant and lactating women (PLW). The project supports the identification, referral, and treatment of children suffering from severe acute malnutrition (SAM). Cases with medical complications are referred to the nearest stabilization centers using standard referral forms. The capacity of nutrition staff is strengthened for effective service delivery at both facility and community levels.
